Ever have that problem where events get stuck in SAM?  Want to clear all the devices from IP and start fresh?  You could just delete the RPS files and let them regenerate, but then you lose all your settings too.

Start your services with "--clean-topology" and it will clear all the junk and keep the settings.

Command Line:

1.) Stop the service in question.

If you are running on a typical LAMP install with access to the shell or SSH, you can easily install drupal modules with 3 or 4 commands.  Find the link to the project download.  For this example we will use the tar.gz download.

Assuming you are in your root Drupal Install Dir.

Seed files are great in a large networked environment.  Data can easily be manipulated in a spreadsheet to import.

SNMP v1 or v2c files

With a simple v1 or v2c SNMP discovery, simply list the names in a single column in a text file.

SNMP v3 seed files

For SNMP v3 discovery, you will have to create several fields in the seed file.
This can be accomplished in a text editor or excel\calc.  Each value is tab delimited with each device on a separate line.
